“FREE” Professional Development

Professional Development Workshops that are being offered on 22nd and 23rd February, which aim to help you answer that familiar student question “ When will I ever use this in real life?”. All workshops participants will receive a companion textbook FREE of CHARGE.

First PD

Date: Thursday 22nd February

Time: 9 am to 3 pm

Title: “When will I ever use this? Math Modelling with Algebra”

Target Audience: Year 11 to 13 teachers.

Venue: University of Auckland Epsom Campus, A block, Room 211.

Second PD

Date: Friday 23rd February

Time: 9 am to 3 pm

Title: “When will I ever use this? From Percentages to Algebra”

Target Audience: Year 7 to 10 teachers.

Venue: University of Auckland Epsom Campus, A block, Room 211.

Morning tea and lunch will be sponsored by the Operations Research Society of New  Zealand (ORSNZ) Council. More details about the workshops and biographies of the presenters are given in the attached fliers.

There is plenty of parking at the Epsom campus; a campus map is attached to this email.

Calcex 2019 – Tuesday 24th September

Calcex now in its 3rd year has 49 teams from 28 schools competing across Auckland in Gisborne and Manawatu –  its not too late to enter a team  or host a competition

Calcex questions are drawn from L3 calculus  and teams compete locally at a host school.  Read more
