AMA is the professional association for teachers of mathematics, statistics and pāngarau in the Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland region. We seek to promote, support and improve the teaching and learning of mathematics, statistics and pāngarau across sectors.

AMA scholarship
AMA provides annual scholarship for teachers to study and supports teachers attending professional learning events. We also share information about other awards that are available

AMA helps you stay up to date with emails from our Networks of Expertise Kaiārahi. Emails give regular updates on emerging issues, resources and forthcoming awards and events
Competitions for students
AMA runs Mathex competitions for students in years 7 to 10 over two nights. We also share information about other competitions and events available for students
Networks of Expertise
Network of Expertise [NEX] is a Ministry of Education funded professional development initiative that seeks to grow and develop existing and new curriculum, teaching and learning networks.
Networks of Expertise supports subject associations and broader networks used by teachers and school leaders to support and improve their teaching practice. The focus is building teacher capability at school/kura and kāhui ako at regional and national levels.
The AMA contract two Kaiārahi through the Networks of Expertise to provide support in the Auckland region.
